Highlights of the July 11, 2018 Town Board Meeting

To enhance communications with residents, the Town Board will distribute this newsletter with the “headlines” from the board meetings.

This was a regularly scheduled monthly Town Board meeting. The meeting included a public hearing for two properties (2328 State Highway 10 & 2116 State Highway 10) that were cited by the Town Code Office as unsafe structures. An overview of the two properties and the process being followed was provided by the Board. Resident input was supportive of moving forward with process to remove these unsafe structures.

Resolutions/Local Laws Passed:

  1. Unsafe Structures – Approved moving forward with obtaining quotes for asbestos inspections for the two unsafe structures at 2328 & 2116 State Highway 10.

  2. Town Property – Approved the initiation of the third round of the bid auction for a small property (SBL 83.6-3-2) on State Highway 10 near the Post Office.

  3. Highway Equipment – Authorized Superintendent Putman to solicit bids/assess contract opportunities to replace the 2004 sander/dump truck and 2013 pick-up/plow truck.

  4. Lake Weeds – Authorized the transfer of funds from the Stewards Program to the Weed Control account for purchase of equipment and software to assess weeds.

  5. Town Hall – Approved the solicitation of two additional quotes to repair roof leaks.

  6. Nathan Littauer Foundation – Approved providing the foundation with four free rounds of golf at Nick Stoner golf course for their fundraiser.

  7. New Zoning – Authorized Supervisor Selmser to submit an Environmental Assessment Form to the APA with a “negative determination”. This is indicates that the town believes there is no adverse environmental impact from the new zoning law.

  8. Code Office – Approved the hiring of a temporary part-time assistant to the Code Officer for up to 20 hours per week for a period not to extend beyond Friday, September 14, 2018.

Attention: Residents are asked to report anyone tampering with street signs to Steve Putman at 518-835-2835 or the Sheriff’s Department at 518-736-2100.
