COVID-19 is the disease caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2).
Of great significance in the above is that aerosols are a major pathway for the transmission of SARS-CoV-2. Aerosols spread throughout an indoor room within five minutes, making the six-foot social distancing practice problematic. A significant percentage of aerosols also pass through cloth masks. Virii in aerosols have a half-life of roughly 1.1 hours.
