LED Street Lighting Upgrade Project

The Town Board has been investigating upgrading to LED street lighting. The Town Board asked National Grid to provide a price quotation for purchase of the heavily depreciated inventory of street lighting. National Grid provided that price quotation. The price quotation expires 180 days after the quotation date.

The Town Board asked New York Power Authority to provide pricing for conversion. On May 29, 2019, the Town Board passed a resolution authorizing the Supervisor to sign the NYS Power Authority operating agreement contingent upon edits from the town attorney and purchase all Town street light equipment from National Grid at a cost of $31,535. The project is projected to save the Town about $24,000 annually after the 5 year finance period.
