From the Town Board

Highlights of the March 21, 2018 Town Board Work Session

To enhance communications with residents, the Town Board will distribute this newsletter with the “headlines” from the board meetings.

This was a work session planned primarily to interview another attorney as part of the process for selecting a town attorney. As result, most of the meeting was held in executive session. There was some brief public meeting time where the Highway Dept. garage furnace and the town property sale topics were discussed and acted upon as described below.

Resolutions/Local Laws Passed:

  1. Highway Department Garage – Accepted the revised bid from Lynch Heating & Cooling (Dolgeville) to replace the failing furnace and duct work.

  2. Town Property – Approved the initiation of a three round sealed bid auction of a small piece of town property (SBL 83.6-3-2) on RT10 near the post office. The minimum bid was set at $2,500 to cover the town’s purchase price and associated purchase and sale legal fees (see more below).

  3. Town Attorney – Approved Dunn & Dunn (Canajoharie) as the named town attorneys. The board agreed to use their services on an as needed basis and pay them an hourly rate instead of a prepaid monthly retainer (see more below).

The following items were also discussed:
