From the Town Board
Highlights of the November 28th, 2018 Town Board Meeting
To enhance communications with residents, the Town Board will distribute this newsletter with the “headlines” from the board meetings. Detailed meeting minutes will be posted on the Town website.
This was a Town Board work session scheduled to review a proposal for a sewer district.
Resolutions/Local Laws Passed:
Fire Department – Authorized the Town Supervisor to sign the new Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Department 5 year contract.
Sewer District – Requested an updated cost proposal from Environmental Design Partnership LLP for an engineering report that would provide more specifics for the proposed sewer district based on the parameters discussed at this meeting.
End of Year Meeting – Scheduled an end of year Town Board meeting for Wednesday, December 19th (see below).
National Grid – Authorized the Town Supervisor to sign an agreement with National Grid in order for the town to receive a credit of $6,541.64 due to over charges.
Sherman’s – Approved a wedding on August 10, 2019 for a fee of $500.

Lake Weed Management – Approved the purchase of a new, heavier duty trailer for hauling removed lake weeds to the landfill for $4,300.00.
The following items were also discussed:
Fire Department - A public hearing was held for the new 5 year Caroga Volunteer Fire Department contract.
Proposed Sewer District – Scott Henze (Fulton County Planning Department), Ron Peters (CEO, Fulton County Center for Regional Growth), and Travis Mitchell (Partner, Environmental Design Partnership LLP) presented information on a proposed sewer district that would run through the central business district and then South to near the Wheelerville School. The proposed district is smaller than past efforts and treated water would be released below the outlet of East Caroga Lake, not into Caroga Lake as in previous proposals. The group responded to many questions from the board and residents in attendance. The board approved taking the next steps toward obtaining grant funding for an engineering report on the proposed project (see #2 above).
