Town Board Meeting Highlights
July 8, 2020
This monthly meeting lasted 100 minutes, at Town Hall and via zoom web teleconference.
Public Hearings —
Local Law #2 of 2020: Called for a public hearing on August 12, 2020 at 7:00pm. As a Building Code supplement, the proposed law will require all new water wells to be registered with Code Enforcement. Existing well owners will be encouraged to register. Registration information includes site map, well driller name/address, total well depth, casing depth, and well recovery rate. (5 to 0 vote)
Town Hall Property Zoning: Called for a public hearing on August 12 at 7:15pm. The proposed Zoning Ordinance amendment will re-zone the Town Hall property (SBL #68.9-3-2.5) from “Conservation” to “Hamlet” for use flexibility. (5 to 0 vote)
Transfer Station — Approved Caroga Transfer Station sign stating that a $5.00 coupon is required for appliance disposal (5 to 0 vote) [This includes appliances such as stoves, woodstoves, dishwashers, and hot water heaters. Note that Caroga does not accept appliances with freon, such as refrigerators, which must go to Fulton County for disposal.]
Snowmobile Club — Approved use of Town Hall for monthly meetings (5 to 0 vote)
Golf Course —
Refunded $450.00 golf membership to a golfer due to illness (5 to 0 vote)
Donated 4-person golf outing for Caroga Arts’ Fundraiser on August 9 (5 to 0 vote)
Spending —
Allocated $600.00 for Ferguson and Foss to survey the Town lot on East Shore Road, West Caroga Lake (5 to 0 vote)
Approved $4,000.00 budget for PRLT publicity and celebrations (4 to 1 vote)
Approved Highway spending for Gradall repair and rental (5 to 0 vote)
Approved closing NBT Book Account, with transfer to General Fund (5 to 0 vote)
Approved payments as presented for audit (4 to 0 vote, 1 abstention).
